Fashion is transformational; the way we style ourselves can have a major impact on how we feel about ourselves and the way others perceive us. When I get dressed in the morning, I ask myself what role I want to play in the world that day, and which aspects of my personality I would like to highlight through my sartorial choices. Utilizing my experience as a stylist, design assistant, and fashion week regular, it is my goal to help others discover fashion as a tool for self-discovery, creative expression, and personal and professional advancement.
- Seek inspiration. Go on Instagram, watch movies, and flip through magazines, taking note every time you see someone whose style you like. Use their style as inspiration when creating looks of your own, and make adjustments to suit your body, lifestyle, and personality.
- Choose quality over quantity. We are more likely to discard cheap, mass-produced items than expensive ones. Rather than spend your money on a wardrobe of disposable clothing, invest in a few timeless, high-quality garments that will last you for years to come.
- Be true to yourself. Great style isn’t about accumulating a wardrobe of designer clothes or blindly following the latest trends; it’s about authenticity. Experiment with different silhouettes, patterns, textures, and accessories, and choose what makes you feel like yourself—your best self.
