You are feeling conflicted. You do not like to drink water. You have heard or read the benefits and negative effects of not drinking water and still you cannot bring yourself to gulp down the water your body needs to function optimally. And yet you want to reap the benefits of clear skin, a highly functioning metabolism, and more energy.
Drinking the appropriate amount of water is critical to your overall wellness. To get over your distaste for water, perhaps all you need is a new way to drink water.
- Taste test different brands of water that come in both glass bottles and plastic bottles. Find the water that you like best. You will be surprised by how different water tastes depending on the origin and container.
- Try different taste enhancer options with your bottle or glass of water. Add a few mint leaves, a wedge of lemon, a sprig of parsley, a few slices of cucumber, a twist of lime, or a squeeze of orange to your water to mix up your routine—and maybe make it more tempting to sip often.
- If you cannot seem to drink enough water alone, double your intake of tea and raw vegetables. By drinking tea and eating vegetables with high water content, you will be contributing to your overall hydration.
